Over the past year, the national fishery market has persisted in deepening the supply-side structural reform of fisheries, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of modern fisheries, and promoting the development of fisheries toward green, safe, integrated, open and standardized development.

The past 2019 has been a year of inclusive and inclusive development for China's fishery market.

01

Green development is the lifeblood of fisheries:

Policy support ensures the sustainable development of fisheries

At the beginning of 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and 10 other ministries and commissions jointly issued the "Several Opinions on Accelerating the Green Development of Aquaculture Industry", which determined the general road of domestic fishery development in the next few years.

"Protecting ecological fisheries and developing ecological tourism complement each other", The General Secretary also gave important instructions when he went out for investigation.

Grasping the green development of the aquaculture industry and promoting the sustainable utilization model of large surface aquaculture is not only a major measure to implement the new concept of fishery development and protect the ecological environment of waters, but also an inevitable choice to optimize the layout of the fishery industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the aquaculture industry.

Green ecology is the lifeline of fishery development and the source of protecting the health and safety of aquatic products.

02

Optimized industrial structure, adequate supply of aquatic products:

Production is stable, and the development of fisheries has achieved reduction in quantity and quality

Throughout 2019, the structure of the fishery industry has been gradually optimized, and compared with last year, the development of the fishery has achieved a reduction in quantity and an improvement in quality.

Data show that as of the first three quarters of 2019, the total output of aquatic products in the country reached 29.3498 million tons, down 0.03% year-on-year.

Among them, the output of Marine fishing was 4.0736 million tons, down 5.09% year-on-year; Freshwater fishing output was 720,200 tons, down 9.86% year-on-year; The reduction is obvious.

In addition, the output of mariculture was 10.4217 million tons, an increase of 2.35%; The output of freshwater aquaculture reached 14.1343 million tons, up 0.35% year on year.

Over the years, the continuous development of aquaculture technology, so that China's aquaculture market has been in a leading position in the world's fisheries.

The output of aquatic products is stable, the supply is sufficient, and considerable development has been achieved.

Opening up and cooperation, the import and export of aquatic products continue to burst into vitality:

Imports and exports of international trade in aquatic products increased

As a traditional fishing country, aquatic products have also become one of the most competitive products in China's international trade.

In recent years, as an important exporter and importer of aquatic products in the world, China's aquatic product trade has grown rapidly.

Customs data show that in the first half of 2019, China's imports of aquatic products were 2,961,600 tons, an increase of 25.89%; The value of imports was 8.719 billion US dollars, an increase of 30.89%; The export volume was 2.0631 million tons, an increase of 3.20%; Exports reached 10.084 billion US dollars, down 2.85% year on year. The domestic aquatic product market will be further opened.

Norway, Chile, Peru and other major fisheries countries have also become long-term partners of China's imports of aquatic products.

Among them, the export of Norwegian aquatic products to China has continued to burst into vitality, and has basically maintained a growth trend since 2019.

By the end of the third quarter of 2019, Norwegian seafood exports to China totaled about 112,000 tons, an increase of 14% year-on-year, reaching NOK 3.6 billion (about 2.793 billion yuan). Norwegian salmon exports to China increased by as much as 92%, becoming one of the most popular and favored imported aquatic products by consumers.

In addition, national policies have continued to exert their influence. Recently, in order to "expand imports, stimulate import potential and optimize import structure", the Customs Tariff Commission of The State Council issued a notice to adjust import tariffs on some commodities.

Salmon, tuna, cod and other aquatic products are among them, and import tariffs have been reduced to varying degrees.

The tariff reduction has indeed played a certain role in promoting the ever-changing aquatic product market.

However, with the increase of imported aquatic products, the domestic aquatic products market opportunities and challenges coexist, and is bound to be affected to a certain extent.

The year 2019 has passed in the blink of an eye, and the fishery market has been rich and colorful. What about 2020? Let us wait and see!
